トムが食べごろのバナナをのせた箱を運んできました。
Tom lleva una cesta de plátanos maduros.
Tom carries a tray of ripe bananas.
トムはバナナを売りに市場へやってきたのです。
Tom va al mercado a vender plátanos.
Tom goes to the market to sell bananas.
その市場にいる人びとは、果物を買っています。
La gente compra fruta en el mercado.
People at the market are buying fruit.
しかし、だれもトムのバナナを買ってくれません。みんな、女の人から果物を買いたいようです。
Pero nadie compra los plátanos de Tom. Prefieren comprarle a las mujeres.
But no one is buying
Tom’s bananas.
They prefer to buy fruit from women.
人びとは言いました。「わたしたちの町では、女の人だけが果物を売っているのさ。」そして「この男は何をしにきたのだ？」と尋ねました。
“En nuestra comunidad, sólo las mujeres venden fruta,” le dice la gente. “¿Qué clase de hombre es éste?” se pregunta la gente.
“In our community, only women sell fruit,” people say. “What kind of a man is this?” people ask.
しかし、トムはあきらめません。「バナナはいりませんか！ぜひ、甘くて美味しいうちのバナナを買ってください！」と呼び込みをします。
Pero Tom no se rinde. Sigue gritando, “¡Compren mis plátanos! ¡Compren mis dulces plátanos maduros!”
But Tom does not give up.
He calls, “Buy my bananas!
Buy my sweet ripe bananas!”
一人の女性がトムのお皿から一房のバナナを手にとりました。彼女はじっとバナナを見ています。
Una mujer coge un montón de plátanos de la bandeja. Revisa las plátanos cuidadosamente.
One woman picks up a bunch of bananas from the tray.
She looks at the bananas carefully.
その女性はトムのバナナを買ってくれました。
La mujer compra los plátanos.
The woman buys the bananas.
たくさんの人々がトムのお店に集まってきました。彼らは、トムのバナナを買って食べました。
Más gente viene al puesto. Compran los plátanos de Tom y se las comen.
More people come to the stall.
They buy Tom’s bananas and eat them.
すぐにトムのお皿は空っぽになりました。トムはバナナを売って得たお金を数えました。
Al poco rato, la cesta está vacía. Tom cuenta el dinero que ganó.
Soon, the tray is empty.
Tom counts the money he earned.
それからトムは、石鹸と、砂糖と、パンを買いました。彼は、買ったものをお皿に入れました。
Luego, Tom compra jabón, azúcar y pan. Pone las cosas en su cesta.
Then Tom buys soap, sugar, and bread.
He puts the things in his tray.
トムは、そのお皿を頭にのせて、落とさないようにバランスを取りながら、家に帰っていきました。
Tom carga la cesta sobre su cabeza y se va a casa.
Tom balances the tray on his head and goes home.
