يَحْمِلُ توم طَبَقَ المَوْزِ النَّاضِجِ.

Tom sarye enn plato banann mir.

Tom transporte un plateau de bananes mûres.

Tom carries a tray of ripe bananas.


يَتَّجِهُ تُومْ إِلَى السُّوقِ لِبَيْعِ المَوْزِ.

Tom al bazar pou vann banann.  

Tom va au marché pour vendre des bananes.

Tom goes to the market to sell bananas.


النَّاسُ فِي السُّوقِ يَشْتَرُونَ الفَاكِهَة.

Bann dimounn dan bazar aste frwi.

Les gens au marché achètent des fruits.

People at the market are buying fruit.


لَكِنْ لاَ أَحَدَ يَشْتَرِي مَوْزَاتِ تُومْ. إِنَّهُمْ يُحَبِّذُونَ شِرَاءَ الفَاكِهَةِ مِنَ النَّسَاءِ.

Selman, personn pa aste banann Tom. Zot prefer aste zot frwi ek bann madam.

Mais personne n’achète les bananes de Tom. Ils préfèrent acheter leurs fruits des femmes.

But no one is buying Tom’s bananas. They prefer to buy fruit from women.


يَقُولُ النَّاسُ “فِي مُجْتَمَعِنَا لاَ يَبِيعُ الفَاكِهَةَ إِلاَّ النِّسَاءُ” وَيَتَسَاءَلُونَ “مَا نَوْعُ هَذَا الرَّجُلِ؟”

« Dan nou kominote, zis bann madam vann frwi, » bann dimounn-la dir. « Ki kalite zom li ete sann-la ? » bann dimounn-la demande.

« Dans notre communauté, seulement les femmes vendent des fruits, » disent les gens. « Quelle sorte d’homme est celui-ci ? » demandent les gens.

“In our community, only women sell fruit,” people say. “What kind of a man is this?” people ask.


لَكِنَّ تُومْ لاَ يَسْتَسْلِمُ. هَا هُوَ يُنَادِي “اِشْتَرُوا مَوْزِي … اِشْتَرُوا مَوْزِيَ النَّاضِجَ اللَّذِيذَ.”

Selman Tom pas bes lebra. Li kriye, « Aste mo banann ! Aste mo banann mir, bien bien dou ! »

Mais Tom ne démissionne pas. Il crie, « Achetez mes bananes ! Achetez mes bananes mûres et sucrées ! »

But Tom does not give up. He calls, “Buy my bananas! Buy my sweet ripe bananas!”


أَخَذَتْ امْرَأَةٌ حِزْمَةَ المَوْزِ مِنْ عَلَى الطَّبَقِ وَتَفَحَّصَتْهَا بِعِنَايَةٍ.

Enn madam swazir enn rezim banann depi plato-la. Li chek banann-la bien.

Une femme choisit un régime de bananes du plateau. Elle inspecte les bananes soigneusement.

One woman picks up a bunch of bananas from the tray. She looks at the bananas carefully.


اشْتَرَتْ المَرْأَةُ المَوْزَ.

Madam-la aste banann-la.

La femme achète les bananes.

The woman buys the bananas.


تَوَافَدَ النَّاسُ عَلَى المِنْضَدَةِ. يَشْتَرُونَ مَوْزَاتِ تُومْ وَيَأْكُلُونَهَا.

Bann lezot dimounn vinn kot latab-la. Zot aste banann Tom et zot manze.

D’autres personnes viennent au stand. Elles achètent les bananes de Tom et les mangent.

More people come to the stall. They buy Tom’s bananas and eat them.


أُفْرِغَ الطَّبَقُ بِسُرْعَةٍ. أَخَذَ تُومْ يُحْصِي المَالَ الذِي رَبِحَهُ.

Enn ti mama apre, plato-la vid. Tom kont kas ki li’nn gagne.

Bientôt, le plateau est vide. Tom compte l’argent qu’il a gagné.

Soon, the tray is empty. Tom counts the money he earned.


ثُمَّ اشْتَرَى تُومْ صَابُونًا وَسُكَّرًا وَخُبْزًا وَوَضَعَ المُشْتَرَيَاتِ فِي الطَّبَقِ.

Apre sa, Tom al aste savon,disik ek dipin. Li met tou lor so plato.

Ensuite, Tom achète du savon, du sucre et du pain. Il met les choses sur son plateau.

Then Tom buys soap, sugar, and bread. He puts the things in his tray.


وَضَعَ تُومْ الطَّبَقَ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ وَرَجَعَ إِلَى مَنْزِلِهِ.

Tom, avoy plato-la lor so latet et retourn lakaz.

Tom balance le plateau sur sa tête et rentre chez lui.

Tom balances the tray on his head and goes home.
