One day the soldiers came.
تینگی و نه‌نکی هەڵاتن و خۆیان شاردەوە.
Tingi and his grandmother ran away and hid.
ئەوان لە دارستانەكە خۆیان حەشاردا تا شەو داهات.
They hid in the bush until night.
كاتێك سەربازەكان دیسان گەڕانەوە.
Then the soldiers came back.
نه‌نکی، تینگی لەژێر گەڵاكاندا شاردەوە.
Grandmother hid Tingi under the leaves.
یەكێك لە سەربازەكان ڕاست پێی لەسەر تینگی دانا، بەڵام ئەو دەنگی نەكرد.
One of the soldiers put his foot right on him, but he kept quiet.
كاتێك بارودۆخەكە ئاسای بۆوه، تینگی و نه‌نکی هاتنە دەرەوە.
When it was safe, Tingi and his grandmother came out.
ئەوان بە ئەسپایی چوونەوە ماڵێ
They crept home very quietly.
