Tingi lived with his grandmother.
Tingi vivait avec sa grand-mère.
Magkasama nilang inalagaan ang mga baka.
He used to look after the cows with her.
Il gardait les vaches avec elle.
Isang araw, dumating ang mga sundalo.
One day the soldiers came.
Un jour, des soldats arrivèrent.
Dinakip nila ang mga baka.
They took the cows away.
Ils emmenèrent les vaches.
Tumakas si Tingi at ang Lola niya at sila’y nagtago.
Tingi and his grandmother ran away and hid.
Tingi et sa grand-mère se sauvèrent et se cachèrent.
Nagtago sila sa palumpong hanggang gabi.
They hid in the bush until night.
Ils restèrent cachés dans des buissons jusqu’au soir.
Pagkatapos, bumalik ang mga sundalo.
Then the soldiers came back.
Puis les soldats revinrent.
Itinago ni Lola si Tingi sa ilalim ng mga dahon.
Grandmother hid Tingi under the leaves.
La grand-mère de Tingi recouvrit alors leurs corps de feuilles.
Inapakan ng isa sa mga sundalo si Tingi, pero hindi siya kumibo.
One of the soldiers put his foot right on him, but he kept quiet.
Un des soldats marcha sur Tingi, mais celui-ci ne réagit pas.
Noong alam nilang ligtas na, lumabas si Tingi at ang Lola niya.
When it was safe, Tingi and his grandmother came out.
Quand il n’y eut plus de danger, Tingi et sa grand-mère se relevèrent.
Tahimik silang gumapang pabalik ng tahanan nila.
They crept home very quietly.
Ils revinrent chez eux sans faire le moindre bruit.
