I chop a cabbage.

Ndimachosa zakunja za kaloti.

I grate the carrots.

Ndimasuka kayela.

I wash the beans.

Ndimacheka matanga.

I cut the butternut.

Ndimacheka ndio za sipinachi.

I chop the spinach.

Amai amacheka anyensi.

My mom chops the onions.

Anyensi imandichosesa misozi ngati yachekedwa.

Onions make me cry when they are chopped.
