यह खलाई है। यह सात साल की है। इसकी भाषा लुबुकुसु में इसके नाम का मतलब है, “एक अच्छा इंसान”।
This is Khalai.
She is seven years old.
Her name means ‘the
good one’ in her
language, Lubukusu.
Ella es Khalai. Tiene siete años. Su nombre significa “bondadosa” en su idioma llamado Lubukusu.
खलाई सुबह उठकर संतरे के पेड़ से बात करती है और कहती है कि “ओ संतरे के पेड़ खूब बढ़ो और बड़े होकर हमें बहुत सारे पके हुए संतरे दो।”
Khalai wakes up and
talks to the orange tree.
“Please orange tree,
grow big and give us
lots of ripe oranges.”
Khalai despierta y le habla a los naranjos. “Por favor naranjos crezcan mucho para que nos den muchas naranjas maduras.”
खलाई पैदल चलकर स्कूल जाती है और रास्ते में घास से बात करते हुए प्यार से कहती है कि “घास, तुम और हरी-भरी हो जाओ और सूखना मत।”
Khalai walks to school.
On the way she talks to
the grass. “Please
grass, grow greener
and don’t dry up.”
Khalai le habla al pasto mientras camina a su escuela. “Por favor pasto, crece muy verde y nunca te seques.”
खलाई जंगली फूलों के पास से गुजरती हुई उनसे कहती है कि “प्यारे-प्यारे फूलो, तुम हमेशा यूँ ही खिलते रहना ताकि मैं तुम्हें अपने बालों में लगा सकूँ।”
Khalai passes wild
flowers. “Please
flowers, keep blooming
so I can put you in my
hair.”
Khalai pasa frente a unas flores silvestres. “Por favor flores, sigan floreciendo para ponerlas en mi cabello.”
स्कूल में, खलाई आँगन के बीच में लगे पेड़ से बात करती है और उससे कहती है कि “ओ पेड़, कृपया अपनी टहनियाँ बड़ी करो ताकि हम तुम्हारी छाया तले बैठकर पढ़ सकें।”
At school, Khalai talks
to the tree in the
middle of the
compound. “Please
tree, put out big
branches so we can
read under your shade.”
En la escuela, Khalai le habla a un árbol que está en medio del recinto. “Por favor árbol, crece con ramas muy grandes para que podamos leer bajo tu sombra.”
खलाई अपने स्कूल के चारों ओर लगी बाड़ से बात करती है और कहती है कि तुम बहुत ताकतवर बनो और बुरे लोगों को अंदर आने से रोको।
Khalai talks to the
hedge around her school.
“Please grow strong
and stop bad people
from coming in.”
Khalai le habla a la cerca de arbustos que rodea su escuela. “Por favor, crece muy fuerte para que detengas a la gente mala que quiera entrar.”
जब खलाई स्कूल से वापस घर आयी, तब वह संतरे के पेड़ से मिली। “क्या तुम्हारे संतरे पक गए हैं?” खलाई ने पूछा।
When Khalai returns
home from school, she
visits the orange tree.
“Are your oranges ripe
yet?” asks Khalai.
Cuando Khalai vuelve a casa, ella visita al naranjo y le pregunta: “¿Están listas tus naranjas?”
“संतरे अभी भी हरे हैं,” खलाई ने आह भरते हुए कहा। “मैं तुमसे कल मिलूँगी संतरे के पेड़,” खलाई बोली। “शायद तब तुम्हारे पास मेरे लिए एक पका संतरा होगा!”
“The oranges are still
green,” sighs Khalai.
“I will see you tomorrow
orange tree,” says
Khalai. “Perhaps then
you will have a ripe
orange for me!”
“Las naranjas aún se ven verdes,” dice Khalai. “Nos vemos mañana, naranjo,” Khalai continúa. “¡Quizás, mañana tendrás una naranja lista y madura para mí!”
