I peel the potatoes.

Mi piil di pitieta dem.

ጎመኑን እከትፋለሁ።

I chop a cabbage.

Mi chap a kyabij.

ካሮቱን እፈቀፍቃለሁ።

I grate the carrots.

Mi grieta di kyarat dem.

ባቄላዎቹን አጥባለሁ።

I wash the beans.

Mi wash di biin dem.

ዱባውን እከትፋለሁ።

I cut the butternut.

Mi kot op di botanot.

ስፒናቹን እከትፋሁ።

I chop the spinach.

Mi chap op di spinij.

እናቴ ደግሞ ሽንኩርት ትከትፋለች።

My mom chops the onions.

Mi mada chap op di oniyan.

ሽንኩርት ሲከተፍ እንባዬ ይመጣል።

Onions make me cry when they are chopped.
