Într-o zi, mama a căpătat multe fructe.
One day, mama got a lot of fruit.
“Când putem mânca fructe?” am întrebat noi. “Vom mânca fructele deseară,” a spus mama.
“When can we have some fruit?” we ask.
“We will have the fruit tonight,” says mama.
Fratele meu Rahim este lacom. El gustă toate fructele. El mănâncă foarte multe din ele.
My brother Rahim is greedy. He tastes all the fruit. He eats a lot of it.
“Uite ce a făcut Rahim!” strigă fratele meu mai mic. “Rahim este neascultător și egoist,” spun eu.
“Look at what Rahim did!” shouts my little brother.
“Rahim is naughty and selfish,” I say.
Mama este furioasă pe Rahim.
Mother is angry with Rahim.
Și noi suntem furioși pe Rahim. Dar lui Rahim nu-i pare rău.
We are also angry with Rahim. But Rahim is not sorry.
“Nu-l vei pedepsi pe Rahim?” întreabă fratele mai mic.
“Aren’t you going to punish Rahim?” asks little brother.
“Rahim, în curând îți va pare rău,” avertizează mama.
“Rahim, soon you will be sorry,” warns mama.
Lui Rahim începe să-i fie rău.
Rahim starts to feel sick.
“Sunt deranjat la burtă,” șoptește Rahim.
“My tummy is so sore,” whispers Rahim.
Mama a știut că asta se va întâmpla. Fructele îl pedepsesc pe Rahim!
Mama knew this would happen. The fruit is punishing Rahim!
Mai târziu, Rahim își cere scuze de la noi. “Nu voi mai fi niciodată atât de lacom,” promite el. Și noi toți îl credem.
Later, Rahim says sorry to us. “I will never be so greedy again,” he promises.
And we all believe him.
