တရက်နိမာ မေမေရေ အသီးတိ အများကြီးယူလာပါရေ။
One day, mama got a lot of fruit.
“သမီးရို့ ဇာအချိန်လောက် အသီးတိ စားကတ်ရဖို့လဲ” လို့ မိန်းလိုက်တေ။ “အသီးတိကို ညဇာဖက်ရောက်ကေ စားဖို့ “လို့ မေမေက ပြောလိုက်ရေ။
“When can we have some fruit?” we ask.
“We will have the fruit tonight,” says mama.
အကျွန့် အစ်ကို ရာဟင်က လောဘကြီးပါရေ။ အသီးတိုင်းကို စားပါရေ။ သူသအသီးတိ တဝ အများကြီးစားပါရေ။
My brother Rahim is greedy. He tastes all the fruit. He eats a lot of it.
အကျွန့် မောင်ချေက “ရာဟင် ဇာပိုင်လုပ်ထားရေလေးဆိုစွာ ကြည့်ခလေ့ဇမ်” လို့ ” အော်လိုက်ရေ။ ရာဟင်က တဗျင်းဆိုးပြီးကေ တကိုယ်ကောင်းဆန်စွာရာမလားလို့ အကျွန်ပြောလိုက်ပါရေ။
“Look at what Rahim did!” shouts my little brother.
“Rahim is naughty and selfish,” I say.
မေမေက ရာဟင်ကို တဝမာန်ပါလားခရေ။
Mother is angry with Rahim.
အကျွန်ရို့ အားလုံးလေ့ ရာဟင်ကို မာန်ပါကတ်ရေ။ ယေကေလေ့ ရာဟင်ကတော့ စိတ်မကောင်းမဖြစ်။
We are also angry with Rahim. But Rahim is not sorry.
အကျွန့်မောင်ချေက “ရာဟင်ကို အပြစ်မပီးလား” လို့ မိန်းလိုက်တေ။
“Aren’t you going to punish Rahim?” asks little brother.
မေမေက “ရာဟင်” သား,မင်း နောက်ခါ နောင်တရလာလိမေ” လို့ သတိပီးရေ။
“Rahim, soon you will be sorry,” warns mama.
ရာဟင် ကောင်းဗင်မကြာ ဖျားလာပါရေ။
Rahim starts to feel sick.
ရာဟင်က “သားဝမ်းတိ တဝနာရေ”လို့ တိုးတိုးချေ ပြောပါရေ။
“My tummy is so sore,” whispers Rahim.
မေမေက အေပိုင်မျိုးဖြစ်လာဖို့စွာကို သိပြီးသားဖြစ်တေ။ အသီးတိက ရာဟင်ကို အ ပြစ်ပီးနီပါယာ။
Mama knew this would happen. The fruit is punishing Rahim!
နောက်ပိုင်းမာ ရာဟင်ရေ အကျွန်ရို့ကို တောင်းပန်ရေ လို့ ပြောလာပါရေ။ သူက ငါအေပိုင်မျိုးတခါလေ့ မလုပ်ယာလို့ ကတိပီးပါရေ။
Later, Rahim says sorry to us. “I will never be so greedy again,” he promises.
And we all believe him.
