Ninamenya viazi.

I peel the potatoes.


Nalebhutagula kabhechi.

Ninakatakata kabichi.

I chop a cabbage.


Naleesha karoti.

Ninasaga karoti.

I grate the carrots.


Nalooja mahalage

Ninaosha maharagwe.

I wash the beans.


nalebhutagula mayoba.

Ninakata maboga.

I cut the butternut.


Nalebhutagula sukumawiki.

Ninakatakata sukuma-wiki.

I chop the spinach.


Mayo wane alebhutagula shitungulu.

Mama yangu anakatakata vitunguu.

My mom chops the onions.


Shitungulu shaneneleja nalile shile bhutagulwa.

Vitunguu hunifanya nilie vikiwa vinakatwakatwa.

Onions make me cry when they are chopped.
