“Awumnandanga lo mdokwe! Udinga ushukela.”
“Tata, ndicinga ukuba esi sidudu sifuna ukongezwa iswekile,” utsho uZama.
“Dad, I think this porridge needs more sugar,” says Zama.
“Motogo wa ga mme o monate go feta wa ga rre,” Lebo a akanya.
Uyacabanga futhi uZama, “Ukube bekungumama, ngabe umnandi lo mdokwe.”
“Isidudu sikamama simnandi kakhulu kunesidudu sikatata,” uyacinga uZama.
“Mom’s porridge tastes much better than Dad’s porridge,” thinks Zama.
“Rre, ke kopa o mphe sukiri e nngwe gape,” Lebo a kopa.
UZama ucela ushukela kubaba.
“Tata, ndingayongeza iswekile?” uyabuza uZama.
“Dad, please can I have more sugar?” asks Zama.
Rre o fa Lebo sukiri gape.
Ubaba uthela ushukela.
Utata wongezela uZama iswekile.
Dad gives Zama more sugar.
“Iyo! Rre! O tshetse letswai mo motogong wa me!”
“Wu! Baba! Uthele usawoti!”
“Yhu! Tata! Ugalele ityuwa esidudwini sam!”
“Wu! Dad! You put salt on my porridge!”
“Rre, mme o tlile go boela leng gae?” Lebo a botsa.
“Baba, ubuya nini umama?”
“Tata, uzobuya nini umama?” uyabuza uZama.
“Dad, when will Mom be home?” asks Zama.
