Andiswa tittade på när pojkarna spelade fotboll. Hon önskade att hon hade fått vara med och spela. Hon frågade tränaren om hon fick träna med dem.
Andiswa watched the boys play soccer. She wished that she could join them. She asked the coach if she can practise with them.
Tränaren satte sina händer på höfterna och sa: ”På den här skolan är det bara pojkar som får spela fotboll.”
The coach put his hands on his hips. “At this school, only boys are allowed to play soccer,” he said.
Pojkarna sa åt henne att gå och spela nätboll. De sa att nätboll är för flickor och att fotboll är för pojkar. Andiswa blev upprörd.
The boys told her to go play netball. They said that netball is for girls and soccer is for boys. Andiswa was upset.
Nästa dag hade skolan en viktig fotbollsmatch. Tränaren var orolig eftersom hans bästa spelare var sjuk och inte kunde spela.
The next day, the school had a big soccer match. The coach was worried because his best player was sick and could not play.
Andiswa sprang till tränaren och bad honom att låta henne spela. Tränaren var inte säker på vad han skulle göra. Sedan bestämde han sig för att Andiswa fick vara med i laget.
Andiswa ran to the coach and begged him to let her to play. The coach was not sure what to do. Then he decided that Andiswa could join the team.
Matchen var tuff. Ingen hade gjort mål vid halvlek.
The game was tough. Nobody had scored a goal by half time.
Under den andra halvan av matchen passade en av pojkarna bollen till Andiswa. Hon sprang mycket snabbt mot målet, sparkade till bollen och gjorde mål.
During the second half of the match one of the boys passed the ball to Andiswa. She moved very fast towards the goal post. She kicked the ball hard and scored a goal.
Publiken blev helt galen av glädje. Sedan den dagen fick flickor också spela fotboll på skolan.
The crowd went wild with joy. Since that day, girls were also allowed to play soccer at the school.
