Tingi lived with his grandmother.
Tingi vivait avec sa grand-mère.
वह उनके साथ गायों की देख-भाल करता था।
He used to look after the cows with her.
Il gardait les vaches avec elle.
एक दिन सिपाही आए।
One day the soldiers came.
Un jour, des soldats arrivèrent.

They took the cows away.
Ils emmenèrent les vaches.
टिनगी और उसकी दादी माँ भागे और छुप गए।
Tingi and his grandmother ran away and hid.
Tingi et sa grand-mère se sauvèrent et se cachèrent.
वे रात तक झाड़ियों में छिपे रहे।
They hid in the bush until night.
Ils restèrent cachés dans des buissons jusqu’au soir.
वे सिपाही फिर से वापस आ गए।
Then the soldiers came back.
Puis les soldats revinrent.

Grandmother hid Tingi under the leaves.

One of the soldiers put his foot right on him, but he kept quiet.

When it was safe, Tingi and his grandmother came out.
Quand il n’y eut plus de danger, Tingi et sa grand-mère se relevèrent.

They crept home very quietly.
Ils revinrent chez eux sans faire le moindre bruit.
