একদিন মা অনেক ফল আনলেন।
One day, mama got a lot of fruit.
Un jour, Maman a ramassé beaucoup de fruits.
“কখন আমরা কিছু ফল খেতে পারব?” আমরা জিজ্ঞেস করলাম। “আমরা আজ রাতে ফল খাব,” মা বললেন।
“When can we have some fruit?” we ask.
“We will have the fruit tonight,” says mama.
Nous lui demandons : « Pouvons-nous manger des fruits ? » Maman répond : « Nous les mangerons ce soir. »
আমার ভাই রহিম লোভী। সে সব ফলের স্বাদ নিল। সে অনেকগুলোই খেয়ে ফেলল।
My brother Rahim is greedy. He tastes all the fruit. He eats a lot of it.
Mon frère Rahim est glouton. Il goûte tous les fruits. Il en mange beaucoup.
“দেখ রহিম কি করেছে!” আমার ছোট ভাই চিৎকার করে বলল। “রহিম দুষ্টু এবং স্বার্থপর,” আমি বললাম।
“Look at what Rahim did!” shouts my little brother.
“Rahim is naughty and selfish,” I say.
« Regarde ce qu’a fait Rahim ! », crie mon petit frère. Et moi, je dis : « Rahim est méchant et égoïste. »
মা রহিমের সাথে রাগ হলেন।
Mother is angry with Rahim.
Maman est fâchée contre Rahim.
আমরাও রহিমের সাথে রাগ করি। কিন্তু রহিম অনুতপ্ত নয়।
We are also angry with Rahim. But Rahim is not sorry.
Nous aussi, nous sommes fâchés contre Rahim. Mais Rahim ne regrette rien.
“আপনি কি রহিমকে শাস্তি দিবেন না?” ছোট ভাই জিজ্ঞেস করল।
“Aren’t you going to punish Rahim?” asks little brother.
« Tu ne vas pas punir Rahim ? », demande Petit Frère.
“রহিম, তুমি শীঘ্রই তোমার ভুল বুঝতে পারবে,” মা সাবধান করলেন।
“Rahim, soon you will be sorry,” warns mama.
« Rahim », prévient maman, « tu le regretteras bientôt. »
রহিম অসুস্থবোধ করতে শুরু করল।
Rahim starts to feel sick.
Rahim ne se sent pas bien.
“আমার পেট খুব ব্যাথা করছে,” রহিম ফিসফিস করে বলল।
“My tummy is so sore,” whispers Rahim.
Il gémit: « J’ai mal au ventre ! »
মা জানতেন যে এটা হবে। ফল রহিমকে শাস্তি দিচ্ছে।
Mama knew this would happen. The fruit is punishing Rahim!
Maman savait que cela arriverait. Ce sont les fruits qui punissent Rahim !
পরে রহিম সবার কাছে ক্ষমা চায়। “আমি আর কখনো এত লোভী হব না,” সে প্রতিজ্ঞা করে। এবং আমরা সবাই তাকে বিশ্বাস করি।
Later, Rahim says sorry to us. “I will never be so greedy again,” he promises.
And we all believe him.
Plus tard, Rahim vient s’excuser et promet : « Je ne serai plus jamais aussi glouton. » Et nous, nous le croyons.
