Mughalha wethu omulere salibotsera lhuba. Ngabuka lhuba kusangwa ngawithe amani.
My little brother sleeps
very late.
I wake early, because I
am great!
Ningye ngaleka omwisi inyingira.
I am the one who lets in
the sun.
“Uli ngununu yaghe yomwangyakya”, mama akabugha.
“You’re my morning
star,” says Ma.
Ngayinabaya, sindiyisunza buwathikya.
I wash myself, I don’t
need any help.
Ngaumira amaghetse mabisi haima n’esabbuni ey’ebbururu.
I can cope with cold
water and blue smelly
soap.
Mama akanyibukaya, “Kauleke eribirirwa ameno”, Ngasubamo “eyihi sinangabirirwa nahake”.
Ma reminds, “Don’t
forget teeth.”
I reply, “Never, not
me!”
Ngabya nabirinaba, ngaramukaya sokulhu haima na’songali, neryo inabasunzira ekiro kibuya.
After washing, I greet
Grandpa and Auntie,
and wish them a good
day.
Hathya ngalimuyambalya, “ngali mukulhu hathya mama”, ngabugha.
Then I dress myself,
“I’m big now Ma,” I say.
Hathya ngalimufunga amapese kandi nerikundika esyangetha syaghe.
I can close my buttons
and buckle my shoes.
Ngalhangira nyithi abanabethu abanzubireko, bakakwama ebilhaghiro.
And I make sure little
brother knows all the
school news.
Omwamasomo awosi ngakolha ndeke.
In class I do my best in
every way.
Ngakolha ebindu ebyosi ebi ebiwene. Aliryo ekyanganzire kutsibu omwabyosi lyerisatha, n’erisatha!
I do all these good
things every day.
But the thing I like
most, is to play and
play!
