Ha’u-nia alin ki’ik toba tarde liu. Ha’u hadeer sedu, tanba ha’u mak boot!

My little brother sleeps very late. I wake early, because I am great!


Ha’u mak ida-ne’ebé halo loro-matan tama.

I am the one who lets in the sun.


“Ó mak ha’u nia fitun dader,” Mama dehan.

“You’re my morning star,” says Ma.


Ha’u hariis mesak, Ha’u la presiza ajuda ruma.

I wash myself, I don’t need any help.


Ha’u bele tahan bee malirin no sabaun azul nia dois.

I can cope with cold water and blue smelly soap.


Mama fó hanoin, Labele haluha nehan.” Ha’u hatán, Nunka, la’ós ha’u!”

Ma reminds, “Don’t forget teeth.” I reply, “Never, not me!”


Hafóin hariis hotu, ha’u kumprimenta Avo-pai no Tia sir ho loron di’ak.

After washing, I greet Grandpa and Auntie, and wish them a good day.


Hafóin ha’u hatais ropa mesak, “Ha’u boot ona mama,” ha’u dehan.

Then I dress myself, “I’m big now Ma,” I say.


Ha’u bele taka ha’u nia butaun sira no prega besi ka’it ha’u nia sapatu nian.

I can close my buttons and buckle my shoes.


No ha’u asegura ha’u nia alin hatene infórmasaun hotu kona-ba eskola.

And I make sure little brother knows all the school news.


Iha aula laran ha’u halo di’ak iha buat hotu.

In class I do my best in every way.


Ha’u halo buat sira ne’e hotu ho di’ak loron-loron. Maibé buat ne’ebé ha’u gosta liu mak, atu halimar no halimar!

I do all these good things every day. But the thing I like most, is to play and play!
